We’re here to welcome the 2014 fishing season! This last week brought clear skies and sun to the Juneau area and on most waters, the ice is just starting to open up.  This week’s weather report looks like what we need to continue to open up the lakes, rivers, and fishing trails. It looks perfect for enticing the dollies and trout out of the lakes and into streams and estuaries. The fishing can only get better from here.

Rumors of early steelhead, cutthroat, and dollies are beginning to roam around town, with no confirmed reports. Our best guess is that with the upcoming rain in the forecast steelhead will soon begin to make their way into the waters around the Juneau area.

Now is a great time to review your stock of flies, gear, and accessories so that when the fish hit you’re ready! Be sure to check out our selection of new Dolly flies, Steehead flies, and our brand new Beads!
